  2. Congratulations! πŸ™‚

Frog legs, squid, alligator and shark?! 😲 Did you like any of them? I once heard that frog legs taste like chicken… but that’s not enough to convince me to try it. XD

    1. Haha! For the most part they were actually all surprisingly very good! πŸ˜ƒ The alligator was put in a type of fritter so, the meat was chopped very fine. So I wasn’t like I was eating an alligator steak. In fact both the shark and alligator were prepared in such a way that, you wouldn’t really know that’s what they were unless someone told you. The frog legs were very similar in taste and texture to chicken, but eating something that looks like a frog leg definitely is a bit weird. I guess it’s mind over matter. The only one I didn’t like was the squid. It sorta tasted like how my dog’s food smells. 😩 Yuck!

      1. Oh! For some reason, I didn’t expect you to say that. XD I have seen them sold as steaks here before. o_O Wow, that is really interesting!

LOL, I bet it was weird. πŸ˜‚ But wow, similar to chicken!

Ewww. XD Was it slimy? And did it have ink? 😝

      2. Haha! They sell them as steaks there? You crazy Arkansas people! 😝 Totally kidding πŸ˜„(I love visiting there). Actually, the squid was fried and a bit more rubbery in texture. It was also only the tentacles so I didn’t have to worry about ink.πŸ˜‚

      3. Yeah. LOL, I had a similar thought myself – what crazy people live here?! πŸ˜‚ (LOL!) It was in the frozen section right next to the clams and shrimp. Alligator does not scream “seafood” to me for some reason… XD

On a side note… I found out a while back that Arkansas actually has an alligator hunting season? Haha, I saw in the newspaper that someone killed a 580 pound alligator in De Witt. 😱 So glad I don’t live there; I don’t want to meet a monster like that… 😜

Oh. Eww. XD But really interesting too. Glad about the ink though!

      4. Was the alligator meat in a regular grocery store out of curiosity, or more of some type of special market?

I honestly didn’t even know you guys had alligator down there. But I guess it isn’t too surprising that their territory extends that far.

I’m usually in the Hot Springs area when I’m down there (my grandparents live there), but I just looked and it seems like the alligator population is relatively low in that area. Which is nice to know, considering that I swim and kayak in the lake that borders their property. It’d be pretty scary to find an alligator in the water with me! 😧

      5. Yes, it was in a regular grocery store. πŸ™‚ I was shocked to find it, haha!

I didn’t either. I guess I expected them to be further south down in Louisiana maybe. But wow. XD Yeah, I guess it isn’t that surprising, considering!

Oh yes, that is good to know! Haha, yeah, that would be scary. 😲
